Dear Friends:
Handkerchiefs, handkerchiefs, and more handkerchiefs! How pretty they all are!
It is with great pleasure that I present this new issue of La Encajera. In case you haven't already guessed, this issue is dedicated to handkerchiefs.
We are especially proud of the cover of this issue, each handkerchief has been designed and made by friends of La Encajera who are all expert lacemakers. Now you too can also make these works of art.
Do you know how the handkerchief was invented? On page 6 you can read all about it.
The handkerchief is a personal item that has been in use for about 400 years.
We also have some interesting articles which I'm sure you will find very informative. For one, there is an article about the lace exposition/collection of Jordi Sanahuja. On page 15 you'll find some very valuable lace making advice.
Between the pages of beautiful "hankies" there are also photos of different lace events. We have one from Valencia, we have another article and several photos on the annual June lace event in Almagro and photos of the big lace gathering in Barcelona.
Also in this issue we finish presenting the letters of the alphabet so don't miss the last ones!
Our lace calendar for 2002 with 12 different colour photos is being prepared and we are already taking orders. You can fill out the order form on page 29.
